2010 is here!

Hey there everyone. Welcome to the New Year! Despite all the conspiracies, the world hasn’t ended…I guess we have to wait until 2012.

The site has been neglected for quite a few months due to big changes going on in my life. My goal is to get back to doing blog updates with interesting stories and funny pictures as I come across them, just not as often as I used to.

Please feel open to leave comments and suggestions! Unless you are blatantly racist, a spammer, or threatening, I approve all comments…

This winter has been a warm, wet one on the West Coast. In fact all over the globe weather is not normal…Britain is frozen, Australia has had the highest temperatures on record, and yet there still is plenty of denial of global warming.

I just read this article on Rape Victims Vs. Prison Rape Victims. I think the ad campaign is bang on…Rape is horrible, whether you are a victims inside or outside of prison…It is sick that people joke about what happens in prisons. The Sexist

Global Warming is Real. Deal with it…

There are some vocal sceptics out there that say that global warming is not man made. I find that the majority of these opinions are brought forth by right wing think tanks, and corporate sponsored ‘researchers’. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of these sponsors are oil companies!

Over at Scientific American, comes the question, “Is global warming a myth?”

…U.S. National Academy of Sciences declared in 2005 that “greenhouse gases are accumulating in Earth’s atmosphere as a result of human activities, causing surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures to rise,” adding that “the scientific understanding of climate change is now sufficiently clear to justify nations taking prompt action.” Other leading U.S. scientific bodies, including the American Meteorological Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Geophysical Union have issued concurring statements—placing the blame squarely on humans’ shoulders…

Over at Science Centric is a bit more research to add to the mountain of evidence that global warming is being influenced by humans. This is a study about drought in Mexico.

…Droughts come and go, but the researchers believe that this drought in particular may have a human-generated component on both a regional and global scale…

The Huffington Post has an article about Obama’s new science advisor John Holdren, who wants to shoot ‘pollution particles’ into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun’s rays. Crazy? Who am I to judge?

Carbon Credits are Bullshit!

Here we go again! Penn & Teller have done up a new video all about the new fad pushed by Al Gore. Carbon credits. I have never bought into this. And, apparently neither do Penn & Teller. Give yourself around 30 minutes and watch all 3 episodes. Enjoy!

Will the thawing glaciers ruin your waterfront home?

If you live close to the ocean, you may want to start getting stilts placed under your foundation! With the glaciers of Greenland thawing now, scientists are raising the possibility that the oceans will rise 7 meters(or 20 feet for you imperial storm troopers).

That would cause some big problems in major cities around the world! If that happens, then maybe the corporate backed governments would actually do something about global warming. Probably not! Having read about Gross Domestic Product(GDP), corporations will make a killing of the disaster. Disaster and tragedy are Capitalism’s best friends! So, keep up the melting!
